Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is renowned for her performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. In her early years, the accomplished actress began performing on stage in several Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. The actress is a lover of acting from the time when she was in the school. Her first role in a play in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. The actress was deaf in one ear after suffering from Mumps, but she didn't permit this to deter the determination of her to become an actress. While in college, she took classes in theatre and then moved from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in an lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. Following her move into Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure an acting role as a support on Swing Shift. She has since appeared in several television series, films and films over the course of her 30-year career. Holly Hunter won a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to the Women in Film Lucy Award.
