Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is known for her acclaimed performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for her work, including an Oscar. In her early years she began performing on stage in several Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. As a child, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth year production. The mumps that she contracted left her blind and deaf in one ear, but she didn't let this to stop her from becoming an actor. When she was a teenager, she studied drama in college before moving from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh to follow her dreams. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. This was Hunter's acting debut. Following her move into Los Angeles she tried to get film roles and bagged a supporting role in Swing Shift. Her professional career spans over 30 years and she's appeared in many TV movies or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
